Objectives:
Differentiate Childhood Apraxia of Speech from other speech sound disorders by identifying core diagnostic features and their impact on expressive language development.
Explain the role of self-advocacy in improving academic, social, and long-term outcomes for students with hearing loss in classroom settings.
Apply evidence-based AAC strategies to support language development in children with CAS across therapy, home, and educational settings.
Understanding of the nature of reading disabilities/dyslexia.
Understand how proper evaluation/diagnosis should occur for dyslexia.
Understand the neurological basis for dyslexia.
Identify whether heavy, chronic electronic cigarette use in youth is associated with changes in extended high-frequency hearing sensitivity.
Assess evidences of possible cochlear synaptopathy an altered neural processing at the auditory brainstem and thalamocortical levels.
